The Science of Roller-Skating

Are your kids engaging with STEM curriculum? Science, technology, engineering, and math are vital fields for kids to learn about. But more and more students—especially middle school and high school girls—are losing interest in STEM lessons. So how do you re-engage students  in a world with so much white noise? That’s where we come in.

STEM Field Trips in Lynchburg

two kids with chemistry setWe’re combining fun and education to create an incredible field trip that both kids and teachers will love. Our lessons teach kids to be creative, love learning, and look at STEM in new and innovative ways. We have lessons tailored for students of all ages, as well as STEM lessons for homeschool groups. We even have curriculum options so teachers can reinforce the lessons learned in the classroom. Choose from one of these interactive STEM lessons for kids:

  • Learn about friction, area, perimeter, and geometry in The Science of Roller-Skating
  • Get kids invested in force and friction, as well as diameter and circumference in Motion and Rink Design
  • Help kids learn about the science of sound, including beats per minute, frequency, and speed in Acoustics and Rink Design
  • Learn about lights and lighting design in Engineering Magic and Lighting

When the learning is over, it’s time for the kids to put their new knowledge to good use! Let your students experience motion, acoustic, and physical fitness with 2 hours of open skating at FunQuest after each 1 hour lesson. We’ll even throw in a few tips about staying healthy through regular skate fitness.
